In September, Germany witnessed a 19.5% rise in filed regular bankruptcy applications compared to the previous year, as per preliminary data from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). This follows a 13.8% increase in August. Note that these figures only account for procedures post the initial decision of the bankruptcy court.
