I use uBlock Origin and I have never seen any webpages demand I turn off my adblocker, and YouTube has so far not stopped me from watching their videos.

I suspect they and a number of other companies are going to be forced into butchering the user experience for their products even more in the coming years.
Which in turn will force people onto other platforms.

I love how pages complain about my ad blocker all the time, when what they really mean is "pretty please, accept some google analytics cookies and forego any semblance of personal privacy." Lol, I don't care if you serve me an ad, but I do actually give a shit about being tracked across sites without my consent and so should everyone.

I'd be happy to pay a few sats to watch a video with no ads.
I don't get why YT is not at the very least experimenting with micropayments.
Oh well, some other platform will do it first and users will go there.

Lol YouTube could just adopt an international payment method that settles instantly instead of that stupid superchat system they have, if they want to generate more revenue, but no lets serve you a crap tonne of ads if you don't want to pay for premium

Want to stop Adblockers? Here's the secret: Make ads less intrusive and scammy. Imagine ads that make you laugh instead of annoy you. Show us products we actually care about.

Ah, the infamous close 'x' button! You know, the one that seems to be playing hide-and-seek with our fingers. It's like a game of precision, where our fat fingers constantly miss the mark. Is it intentional? We may never know.
