This reminds me of a scifi book I read a while back called Quantum Thief, in which people of the future opened encrypted chat tunnels in a sort of networked telepathy. In this kind of world--maybe one we need to start planning for, you also have to gate information by creating obfuscated mnemonics or alternate mappings (e.g. learning Dvorak keyboard but memorize the Qwerty typing motion so that you don't actually know the answer, but have a mapping to find it with the right tool that you remember in another register).
