Maybe the idea seems quite banal but has an interesting rationale, in my opinion.
Last weekend I was talking with a friend about how to promote Bitcoin adoption, and this logic emerged: sell something unique or valuable, not cheap and dirty stuff :), and ask for only payments in Bitcoin. Our houses are full of interesting things — maybe vintage ones, e.g. furniture, tools, or clothing — that on cannot find anywhere else.
If the user is really interested, he will be incentivized to acquire some Bitcoin to buy it. And maybe he could logically think to earn them selling his own stuff! Circular economy, reuse, and Bitcoin adoption: three wins.
A variant could be to give a strong discount (e.g. 20%) for payments with Bitcoin; the buyer should be interested in why the seller is available to get "less" money if paid in Bitcoin, and maybe this will spark some interest that brings him to research.
Anyone have some experience with this sort of experiment?
