I prefer to leave the Bitcoin Core opcodes as they are.
Bitcoin kicks ass today. And even if nothing is ever added, it would still kick ass many many years from now.
The constraints of L1 have led to great innovations on L2. Adding capabilities to L1 concerns me because it's hard, really really hard, to account for the possible unintended consequences.
