huge topic i know, but i'm wondering if any podcast listeners here can point me towards any good recommendations? all time periods are of interest to me, but at the moment anything from the roman empire period would be terrific :)

They cover everything and am certain they must have touched on the Romans at some point. Revolutions https://thehistoryofrome.typepad.com/revolutions_podcast/ is wildly detailed on other stuff and they seem to have gone deep into the Romans at some point and finally Dan Carlin, Hardcore History is reportedly good but have never properly explored it.

wow Revolutions is indeed wildly detailed ... i like that presentation style, kind of dry, but it's chock full of info ... not sure i could take the 5+ hour episodes of Hardcore History but might give that a try. these are all great starting points.
thanks again!
