The obvious way to gift Bitcoins is to simply give them a card with a Private Key filled to the brim with sats in it, explain it all to them, maybe even backup the keys for them just in case they lose or forget it, but this glosses over the point that they might not see this as such a great gift we all know it to be (especially younger people).
From their perspective, rather than getting easy to understand and use fiat, now they have this "weird crypto thing" that they can't really do or buy anything with. Obviously this is false, but to them it's what they believe while receiving the gift.
They have to put in time and effort to learn in order to use this gift. While this will be good for them in the long run, gifts are generally supposed to be delightful and fun, not difficult and involve effort. All in all, while the intention is well meaning, the experience isn't positive for the receiver.
So, our question is what is a way to gift Bitcoin so that the receiver has an instantly positive and fun experience? Where they unwrap it and, even though they might not understand anything about Bitcoin at all, react with "wow that's amazing thank you!"? A reaction where it's positive, fun and where they can easily understand its potential.
This is going to sound crazy but I've given up trying to get my family to understand it and be excited by it--and the best way to gift it to them has been a CashApp transfer. They already have CashApp, they understand that (a bit) and can just hold it there and in a year or two they will wake up and notice that the balance went way up and they will start asking more questions about it because they still think in fiat terms.

This. For most people the first thing that excites people for bitcoin is seeing the "gainz" which increases their interest. From there you can foster their curiosity to have them ask you questions to get them deeper down the rabbit hole. Without the initial intrinsic motivation people usually feel lectured to. Seeing is believing.

Yes NgU technology is a huge attraction and a great way to sneakily spark their interest. One potential thought was to include in the gift a simple table showing the value of the sats gifted in fiat terms over the past 5 years with a phrase like "Bitcoin is for saving".
Obviously the fiat amount would increase each year in the table and it'd hopefully get them thinking "Hey, maybe I should actually hold onto this as imagine what it'll be worth in 5 more years!"

AcceptLN.com looks pretty cool.

Set up a blue wallet for them and give them the seed words, emphasising that the seed words are the Bitcoin.

I use SATSCARD for gifting Bitcoin to normies. Physical, uncomplicated, and cheap.
It’s received far better than when I used to gift paper wallets.
