At least 3 Stackers brought up reading as a way to cope with the stresses of parenthood (#308705). Now I do read voraciously, but their advice made me realise that I should perhaps focus on the pleasures of parenting so that “what the mind focuses on expands” and I can bolster my mental resilience to counter parenting.
  1. Fashion - There's double the cuteness when I dress the little one in hanfu for Chinese festivals and yukata for Japanese occasions.
  2. Language - It's always amusing and awe-inspiring to watch him effortlessly switch between Chinese and Japanese when speaking to his mother and me.
  3. Food - He devours natto and tackles spicy dishes like a champ!
  4. Festivals - It seems like there's always something to celebrate every month. Mooncake Festival, Halloween, Christmas, Japanese New Year, Chinese New Year - the list goes on.
  5. Cultural Blueprint - Watching him clap and say "いただきます" (I'm grateful for the food before me) while also asking me for money ("给我钱") is quite a sight. The capitalist spirit is strong in this one.
