I don't think Bitcoin will ever move away from PoW.

But if I had to bet I'd bet there will be a PoS Bitcoin hardfork which will continue to have a relevant size for one or two years but ultimately slowly sink into irrelevance. It's like the block size wars but a much bigger and more intense version of this controversy
