what types of activity or posts have you found has the most outreach or engagement on stacker or substack. have you found that you have had the best engagement with people by asking good questions? or just thought provoking questions or just provoking people with inflamatory statements?
On SN it's just the posts that 1. aren't links, 2. aren't incoherent rambling and 3. have the right length, not to long not too short. Literally all post on ~/recent that fit these criteria end up on the front page. It's still early and it's still that easy on SN.
It's really just giving people something to discuss and being willing to discuss it with them. The more thoughtful you are in your post, the more you're helping people learn something new, something that maybe only you and a few people know, the better. Also participating in the comments shows respect for the comments you get and will encourage people to always participate in your threads - they'll know you appreciate it.
