The idea that he was fired because they were getting too close to AGI too quickly rests on the presumption thats possible in the first place, for which no evidence has ever been presented; alternative theory, he was fired for being a literal scammer that tried to weaponize his influence to get his own monopoly legislated, he was a walking talking insult to any marginally honest person working there.
