Blixt Quick Release Guide (Lightning Box)

Today Blixt Wallet released a new important feature that allow Blixt users to have their own Lightning Address, through a Lightning Box service.
Here are the release notes for this v0.6.9-420 (yes, the release number is to honor the ATH Bitcoin price).
For the moment the default LN Box is run by Blixt server and offer a @blixtwallet.com LN Address. But ANYBODY with a LND public node can run the Lightning Box server and offer LN Address for its own domain, self-custody.
Right now, the Blixt server is only forwarding the payments to Blixt users. Users must put their Blixt node wallet in "persistent mode" in order to receive these payments to their @blixtwallet.com LN addresses.
Is like a chat over LN, instant and fun, also supporting LUD-18 (adding an alias name to a payment). You can add in contact list all your regular LN addresses you are using frecquently and have it at hand for chatting. Now Blixt can be considered a full LN chat app 😂😂.
Another useful feature is the full support fro LUD-18 (that also SN is supporting it).
As you can see in the screenshot attached, sending from SN account, it displayed nicely the logo + LN address + message. Same works for sending from Blixt, you can attach your Blixt LN Address or simply add the alias name (previously set in Blixt settings), or both. This option from LUD-18 could be useful also for subscription services, where user can send a specific alias (is NOT your node alias or your real name!) and based on that you could be registered or receive back a specific message or whatever else. Attaching an alias name (LUD-18)+ comment (LUD-12) to a LN payment can have multiple use cases!
Happy Lightning with Blixt Node Wallet!
Feel free to reach out on Telegram or nostr if you have any questions guys.
To use this feature, it's very important to run Blixt Persistent Mode and disable battery optimization for the app. We have been testing this for many months and the battery drain should be low if everything is going as expected.
Also, doing "Lnd db compaction" inside settings -> debug can improve efficiency. It's recommended to do it.

Maybe an idea for giving more use to this LN address... What if you setup a dedicated LN Address as support@blixtwallet.com where users can send you questions about Blixt, or give advanced support to specific users?
They could attach an alias name + comment + payment of x sats (predetermined). In this way you can keep track of support tickets and maybe later even build a special section in the Lighning Box server, that will handle these support tickets.
This service can be run by LSPs and other type of companies / services and use it in a nice way over LN.
What do you think?
reply
Yes indeed that could be a pretty good service. I've been thinking about that too, and calling it OnlySats.
reply
damn... "OnlySats". I need to make a meme with this. Is too good.

Do you all use an LSP?
reply
At least one. LSPs could be any node with good liquidity that accept also private channels. Not all want private channels, some want only gains from routing publicly, but they miss the important ones: private nodes that are doing more payments than anybody else.

You can also use your Lightning Address via Lightning Box for nostr tipping. you don't need to use Wallet of Satoshi anymore.

I checked them on Play store and they have about 1000 download. It couldn't install on my phone
reply
If you have an old phone... sorry, throw it away. This is a full LND node on a mobile, is not a joke wallet.
Always download and install using their Github releases page, not shity and misleading play stores. https://github.com/hsjoberg/blixt-wallet/releases/
Also install a proper de-googled device and use Obtainium as I described in this guide. https://darthcoin.substack.com/p/bitcoiners-mobile-device
