Was this the first you were aware that BRD was acquired (and the forced migration imminent)?

Yep. Totally missed it. Either way, they present it like migrating to ‘coinbase wallet’ is the only way you can regain access. At least that’s how I interpret it.

Your BTD wallet is still functional, right? Can't you just transfer your funds and be done with them?
Also, BRD is not a custodial wallet. So you have the wallet seed (12 words, I believe). That seed is not BIP39 apparently, but something like Electrum should be able to import your seed, according to:

BRD only shows the screen I linked to. BRD is non custodial so as long as you have the seed, you should be able to use another software, but that’s not explained when you go into the app. As I said, fairly cheeky of the parties involved.
