Someone I know recently visited their family Iran. Someone they know owns an empty home and is being paid to allow Bitcoin miners to mine from the home. This relationship just started but I imagine the arrangement is becoming increasingly common given this person had no fore-interest in Bitcoin.
Iran is also an interesting use case for Bitcoin given trade embargoes - it's very hard to enforce these without assistance from banks.
This person also complained about how difficult it is to do currency exchange from dollars -> Iranian pesos which has to be done outside of Iran. They asked how they might use Bitcoin to do this instead but I'm not sure given the lack of exchanges. Is there a way to do this in hostile countries without knowing a person accumulating Bitcoin?
