I built this bartop arcade machine cabinet back in 2011 and blogged the progress. It's proof of work I guess, but back then I should have been mining bitcoin instead of dicking around with this!
It runs MAME with the Hyperspin frontend and this is the set of games. I filtered them to just have my old-skool faves:
  • 1943: The Battle of Midway
  • 1944: The Loop Master
  • 1945k III
  • 19XX: The War Against Destiny
  • Aero Fighters (also known as Sonic Wings in Japan)
  • Arkanoid
  • Atari Tetris
  • Blazing Star
  • Contra
  • Donkey Kong
  • Final Fight
  • Frogger
  • Galaga
  • Gals Panic
  • Ghouls'n Ghosts
  • Last Resort
  • Metal Slug:
  • Metal Slug 2
  • Metal Slug 3
  • Metal Slug 4
  • Metal Slug 5
  • Metal Slug X
  • Michael Jackson's Moonwalker
  • Neo Bomberman
  • Out Run
  • Pac-Man
  • Pang (also known as Buster Bros in the USA)
  • RoboCop
  • Strikers 1945
  • Street Fighter II: The World Warrior
  • Shinobi
  • Snow Bros. Nick & Tom
  • Super Pang (also known as Super Buster Bros in the USA)
  • Tetris
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy
Unfortunately the embeded videos I had have now gone but there's lots of pictures and some explanatory text. To see it in order, read from bottom up!
This is great! Also the list of games is solid!
I don't think there's anything major missing, just couple games I actually played and liked in person - Thunder Hoop and Willow :)

Thanks!
Obliviously MAME has thousands of games by default but the majority I'd never play so heavy filtering was needed.
I'll check out Thunder Hoop and Willow...
