I just thought of this. Basically I don't like theories without any evidence whatsoever. Or in general implyng malice where things can be explaind otherwise 🙄

But hear me out here. What if OpenAI just chose a technology that they are sure of to be a dead end. Maybe finding a dead end is orders of magnitude easier than winners (makes sense, doesnt it? if winners are rare). Or maybe it' a dead end they for themselves years ago. After all Q* is a niche technology that we knew little about compared to other AI techniques and architectures

Anyways it would make a lot of sense to lead the competition astray early?
