Just watched "Leave the world behind".
What did you think?
The movie could possibly either annoy or confuse you. In either case, I enjoyed it more than usual care-free media. If it annoys you, its probably because its a bunch of memes and you understand them. If it confuses you, maybe its a bit more of a call for change in some way. Right from the start, the entire movie is a stack of very gritty metaphors making a summary, comment and casual warning, about the decline of the west, with a focus on the USA. It gets increasingly explicit as the film pogresses.

I rarely watch movie these days and I'm quite discerning about what I spend my precious time watching, but everyone was talking about this one and the symbolism in it, so I thought I'd give it go and see what all the fuss was about.
I didn't read any critiques after I watched it because I wanted to let it sit with me for a while, so I can make my own interpretation.
I appreciate the article, it highlights and expands on much of what I was thinking plus goes very in-depth into some things I would have no clue (such as the slavery references). I totally picked up on the "useless" message. (Doesn't Klauss Schwab call us the the useless eaters?) Apparently, loads of ppl were very annoyed by the ending. I thought it summed everything pretty well. While the world was apparently going to hell in a hand basket, the girl was in the bunker watching TV, being distracted, and everything was "fine".
