"The revolt of the public" by Martin Gurri Written in 2014 regarding the decentralisation of communication. I'm half way through it and covers the Arab Spring as an example of what's happening with changes in our communication tools.
I am creeped out thinking over last 20 years from 9/11 and Iraq War, to Libya, to Wikileaks etc... some of it was so charged and electric at the time re: coverage, and now seems so distant and drowned out by level of hack journalism today, like everything's a distraction

That acknowledgement that 'everything's a distraction' is becoming popularised. When a critical mass of people become conscience of what ideas they let in, propaganda loses its effect which in turn diminishes the State's power. Super pumped about the future.
