I'm going to Colombia. I know of at least one bitcoin ATM there (at home, they don't exist). Not trying to spend corn, of course, but I'd like to know if I could if I ever decided to have a boating accident in a mountain lake
reply
Why don't you want to spend bitcoin? It's money, right? Keep 90% in cold storage and keep 10% in Lightning to spend on a daily basis.
reply
in general yes, I absolutely want to spend it. But not now, in 15 months it's worth triple at least
reply
Always be spending and always be zapping. Buy and replace if you must.

My family and I are going to Vegas to see a show at the new Las Vegas Sphere in January. We will also do a short visit to the Hoover Dam and spend a day in Red Rock Canyon. Will probably go on some hikes while we are in Red Rock Canyon.

Lake Mead is a great place to rent a houseboat in the summer! Also Vegas is great!
reply
You mean Lake Mead? I've never been there, but it seems like a nice place. They call it "an oasis in the middle of the desert". I wouldn't go anywhere near Las Vegas during the summer though, the heat is too much for me.
reply
Yes, near the Hoover Dam at Lake Mead, you can rent houseboats, but they tend to be quite booked during the summer. Some even come equipped with a small slide on top – perfect for a family trip.
reply
Thanks for the info. Will look into it.

Some people I know will be in Austria for skiing for Christmas. I'll be dreaming of El Salvador.

I'm on my way back from a short trip to the Canary Islands. It's 25C today. It didn't cost me many sats' worth. In a year or two, when I expect everything to be much cheaper, I'll travel much more.

I believe one of the few commonalities between Fiat and Bitcoin is that both need to be spend; it's inherent in their nature. Finding a good balance between stacking and spending is crucial, in my opinion."

I'll celebrate New Year's Eve in a small island in the Caribbean with my family.
reply
I've never been there, but it sounds nice!
reply
Also will be skiing it up this winter. Next on the agenda for me is Italy, sometime next year. Have you been there before?
reply
Until now, I haven't had the chance to go skiing in Italy, although I've heard that South Tyrol and the Dolomites are fantastic for skiing. I've visited Italy in the summer a few times, particularly around Lake Garda, and it's always been beautiful.
reply
Ah haha separate events, probably won’t be skiing in Italy. Want to go when it’s warmer anyway. Still determining what to see, but Dolomites are high up on the list
reply
What else do you have on your list for Italy? As I mentioned, I've mainly been around Lake Garda.
reply
I’m leaning towards a flight into Venice and seeing all I can in that northern half, Milan too
reply
Sounds great! Naples and the entire southern region are said to be beautiful as well.
