The Perth Heat returned to action this weekend for their Round 4 series of games against the Sydney Blue Sox. If you have been following this series, you know the Heat were off to a rough start to their season but things were looking up last week as they were playing the worst team in the league. Unfortunately, after one victory the remaining three games were rained out leaving the Heat with a lackluster 4-7 record heading into this weekend's series.
Things appear to be on the upswing though as the Heat won 3/4 games in this round 4 series against the Blue Sox. They won the first game of the series 4-3 in a thrilling 9th inning walk off. Game two was less of a nail biter as they took an early lead and continued to pile on cruising to an easy 6-0 victory. Another close one in game three as the Heat squeaked out a 2-1 victory in extra innings. In game 4 the Blue Sox flipped the script with some 9th inning heroics of their own to grab a 6-5 victory and avoid the sweep. The Heat improved their record on the season to 7-8 and moved into a tie for 3rd place in the ABL standings.
Players of the games:
Game 1- SS Ryan Spikes with a HR and a BB.
Game 2- SP Takahisa Hayakawa 7IP 0ER 10Ks (wow, great game)
Game 3- RF Jacob Robson with 2H and scoring the winning run.
Game 4- RF Nehomar Ochoa Jr. 2H 3RBI
Go Heat!
Sats for all,
