Super Mario RPG is an awesome game! The game is short (approx. 12 hours play time), which means you're always experiencing content and something new is always happening. The dialogue is fun and interesting. The combat is pretty fast paced. And if you're getting the remake for the Switch, the graphics is vibrant and colorful. Whenever I'm playing Super Mario RPG remake these days, my kids gather around to watch me play. At the same time, I'm very biased, because the original Super Mario RPG was one of my favorite games on the SNES.

Chrono Trigger is also very fun. It's also a JRPG made by Square Enix. The game has a more serious tone to it. You embark on a journey to save the world by teaming up with allies you find along the adventure. You also traveling through time, as time travel is one of the main theme of the game.
