So with nostr being decentralized and your data being reliant on relays. As you learn shouldnt you also add hosting your own nip-05, lightning address, and relay be important along with bitcoin? I honestly think taking control and knowing you wont lose your follow list or posts and also securing a fun domain for you lightning address/ nip-05 is awesome. Plus if you got a good one you can learn to sell them for the hosting costs!

Personally it depends on how you want to interface with it.
I prefer to rely on other's servers and just keep backups of my profile and follow list.

Yes, there also the option to keep a personal relay locally somewhere just as a backup, using tor or wireguard to expose it.
Remember that you can also broadcast your notes on multiple relays for exactly that reason, when Damus nuked his relay I didn't even noticed, and I haven't lost a single note.
Also, you can also use GitHub Pages for your Nip05, you don't need to buy a domain just for that.
