Stacker News is filled with great content (best collection out there) but there’s relatively little action in the comments section. Also relatively few sats being sent by readers.
Here is your guide to life Cafe: order food, tip the waitress YouTube: watch a video, like the video (and comment) SN: Read a post, leave a comment (and boost a sat)
This will cause you to pause and enjoy the contributions more as well as make the platform better.

I agree with that.
Idk why that is but while I like SN as a concept better than Reddit but there are less things that are truly engaging. It might be because the algo doesn't sort for engagement but popularity and popularity means that people agree more and engage less?
Or maybe It's because the range of topics on SN is smaller? If there are only Bitcoiners here and talking about Bitcoin we will naturally tend to agree more often and will having nothing to add.

Yeah, that last part may be a huge part of it. We’re probably well educated (in bitcoin) and decently likeminded. We don’t really see posts trying to shill the bitcoin-only arguments because it’s a moot point

Definitely range of topics. Redditors can tailor their own subs from thousands of interfering topics.

Lol, I will admit when I see a lot of comments I am more likely to open something even if the title is trash.
I figure since there's no dup posting which I like eventually there will be better curation effort and search becomes more prominent then posts will have a longer life cycle for discussions

I would like more comments too, but to be fair it's a relatively high effort endeavor. Best for us to lead by example.

I think mantras are helpful. Something like “like a post? post a thought”, “comments are appreciation” or “read, comment, repeat”
