Current number is 3,535,694 (Fri Jun 10, 4:10pm PST)
I calculated the amount and on January 20 2022 the amount was 2,845,413 acording to the wayback machine. This number now stands at 3,539,014. These 2 numbers give an average of about 130.000 payments every 30 days
Also given that WOS doesnt support podcasting 2.0 this number is even more impressive

I was reflecting... you may have kind of went from discussing the future, to making history today. Do you know if you we're you the first 2.0 pod caster to pay a listener v4v in real-time?
good question, maybe someone has paid a listener via node pubkey, but the fountain integration that lets me add a fountain listener just launched recently.
i don’t think many shows are engaging listeners like this yet, but hopeful that more will jump on board soon.

This is roughly 1 transaction every 10 seconds.
If we estimate Breez as representing 1% of the Lightning ecosystem, that's 10 tps on Lightning (already more than Bitcoin's base blockchain).
I'd guess Breez is more than just 1% especially because streaming sats to podcasts...
yeah i'd probably guess 1-5%, wanted to keep the numbers round and 1% seemed more likely than 10%
And I believe channel open and closes are 1% of the blockspace being used atm.
with 1 sat for every transaction they got about 90usd per month, probably they arent profitable yet,
They said they were profitable when excluding wages for the devs.
