Scientists have discovered the most distant active black hole ever detected. This, thanks to the James Webb Space Telescope, with its sights aimed at the oldest galaxies in the Universe.

In one of them, called CEERS 1019, which existed about 470 million years after the Big Bang, NASA's ultramodern observatory has found a black hole that is less massive than any previously identified at the beginning of time.
