Meeting up with some Bitcoin guys I'd never seen before in a bar a few days ago I found myself confronted with a problem. The bar was jam packed.
I didn't have their phone number, nor a social media account to find them, so looking around (and listening around) for any tell tale orange or tech conversations (with no luck) I found myself a bit void for clues in this crowded bar.
So I chose to go from table to table asking strangers, "Are you the HODLers?" or "Are you the Bitcoin guys?"
It was the responses to my question that I found interesting. Of the ten, or so, tables that I came up to, nine of them came back to say that they wish they were the Bitcoin guys.
I didn't have time to follow up on their response, so I can only guess, but I'm assuming that people in general still aren't aware that there's such thing as Sats - and that you don't have to spend $43k to get started.
One solution to this would be for the word Sats to be mentioned to bandy it about a bit more.
I thought I'd see what came up in a quick news search with the key words Bitcoin and Sats.
The top search results on kagi.com came up with an Ordinal token called SATS. Not great.
For me the term 'Sats' really needs to be mentioned a lot more.
Well, I agree with your point I don’t think it makes much of a difference.
I’m a big believer that peoples political opinions are assigned to them by the group priest that they follow
Financials is no different. They will have their opinions assigned to them.
Once there is an army of CPAs, lawyers, financial planners, financial advisors, telling them what they should buy. They’ll buy and they still won’t know what “Sats”mean

These were just regular guys in a downtown bar.
In my brief interactions with them it was easy to see they felt being a 'Bitcoin Guy' would be a positive thing for them.

definitely a true thing - no coiners think of a Bitcoin the same way that people think of a dollar - cents don't buy anything, so why keep sats in mind?
once they find something they'd like to buy and it's only priced in sats, then things will change

I'm not sure that the concept of the divisibility of Bitcoin is that known just yet.
It'd be interesting to look vox pop video interviews to gauge this.
Sats are sure to become a big part of public discourse.
However, right now, this is barely touched on one of the biggest Bitcoin landing page - it's wikipedia article.
Units and divisibility The unit of account of the bitcoin system is the bitcoin. It is represented with the currency codes BTC[a] and XBT[b] as well as the symbol ₿. No uniform capitalization convention exists; some sources use Bitcoin, capitalized, to refer to the technology and network, and bitcoin, lowercase, for the unit of account. The Oxford English Dictionary advocates the use of lowercase bitcoin in all cases.[55]
One bitcoin is divisible to eight decimal places.[9]: ch. 5  Units for smaller amounts of bitcoin are the millibitcoin (mBTC), equal to 1⁄1000 bitcoin, and the satoshi[c] (sat), representing 1⁄100000000 (one hundred millionth) bitcoin, the smallest amount possible. 100,000 satoshis are one mBTC.
If it were possible for one symbol for the sat to be universally accepted - it would be a good start too.

they wish they were the Bitcoin guys.
No, they wish they were millionaires. People always say "oh I'd be a billionaire if I had bought", "oh I wish I'd win millions too". No, those people would have sold after 10% gains and they would have been happy. They don't want bitcoin, they want fiat.
