You can still send those sats as a transaction in the Mempool. Would need to use an open source wallet that supports Ledger hardware. Just Ledger Live the software limits your fee flexibility and locking you out.

I would be surprised if Ledger considers Lightning. Think it’s more likely they cease being in business for much longer, if they continue their shenanigans around custody.
