I always turned my nose up at green day. Perhaps because when everyone was fawning over them I was in a particular section of my music appreciation journey, which was if it was mainstream it was shit.... You could just call that being pretentious and it was. But nowadays (just like I mentioned to jerry the other day about the Beatles) I can really hear and see the value these bands had on their respective genres and now I actually appreciate their music.
