SPOILER ALERT Wonka has the knowledge to produce chocolate like no other chocolate before. The masses get a taste for the freedom his chocolate provides. The chocolate cartel, controlled by the three largest legacy chocolate institutions is threatened and bribes the government to shut him down. After this doesn't work they conspire to poison the chocolate and pay the government to kill him. When he escapes death they then try to kill him themselves. They fail and he tricks them to eat a chocolate that makes them float away, most likely freezing to death before plummeting back to earth.
