But the sound of digital music, as every vinyl fan knows, is not, and never will be, half so rich and warm as the sound of an LP, and playing it does not tend to encourage, as spinning a record does, truly serious listening.
I don't believe this at all.
The reason people rediscovered vinyl is nostalgia for symbolically buying their favorite artists record as an event. It has nothing to go with the sound quality.

There is something about nostalgia that is definitely driving this. 100% agree with you. You see it in fashion (90s and 80s is cool again), the songs that go viral on TikTok are basically just GenZ discovering artists like the Cranberries.
