I am particularly concerned about the rise of cultural Marxism in the Western world.
Many young people rightly reject fascism and nazism but identify themselves as communists, revealing a lack of understanding of the history of authoritarian regimes.
Government-funded educational systems have failed us significantly.
What is most disconcerting is that 99% of these individuals have not even made an effort to critically study foundational works such as "Das Kapital" or "The Communist Manifesto."
One of the infuriating aspects is that even opponents of communism often agree that it works in theory but not in practice.
COMMUNISM DOES NOT WORK IN THEORY.
One of the fundamental tenets of this socio-economic doctrine is "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs".
The first half of this proposition is a tautology, while the second part, after the comma, is a contradiction. It is akin to performing a logical AND operation on a TRUE and a FALSE.
The overall result will always be FALSE.
Why is it a contradiction?
Simply because, regardless of how innovative, creative, or hardworking you are, anyone will always have an equal right to claim the fruits of your labor.
Communism is a moral error that does not work in theory and has catastrophic consequences in practice.
It is crucial that we realize this and avoid repeating the same atrocious mistakes of the past for the benefit of everyone.
Dave Smith talks about arguing with his middle school teacher about communism working on paper but not in practice. He rightfully pointed out that if it actually did work in theory, then it would work in practice. All that statement indicates is that the theory is incorrect.
Ironically, "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" is actually closer to describing what free markets do than central planning. You're right that as stated it doesn't really make sense, but with some minor tweaks I think you can see my point: "ability" -> "comparative advantage" and "needs" -> "preferences" or "demand".

Communism isn’t about economics. Its a gnostic/hermetic cult religion that seeks the end of history through transforming into “socialist man” by removing all distinctions and contradictions through mystical, alchemical dialectic processes.
That’s the underlying theory which provides disastrous consequences when implemented.
