You guys will be back next year. But will Cousins be back?
I think probably, I feel the smart play here is to extend Kirk to a 2yr deal somewhere in the region of 35-38mil a year. And draft a QB in the first round of this really talented QB draft. Let the young guy learn from a mentor like Kirk and go from there. I know historically Kirk's not taken a team friendly deal before because (and I'm all for get yourselves paid when it comes to players) he's a business man and he knows the value of his services. However... There's more at play, does he want to uproot his family? He seems to have taken a really part in the community. Sometimes it's not all about money and I think an older Kirk now understands that. I hope he retires a viking (and hell with his football IQ, I kinda hope when he retires from playing that we offer him a coaching job). But there's only so much money in the pot, and the cap is a myth and there is a lot of math gymnastics that can be done, but we have to pay JJ, Danielle, Darrisaw and Kirk? We're gunna be tight up against the cap if they all get what they deserve.

It will be interesting to see what route they take. There will be some other teams interested in Cousins.

I could see the raiders coming hard at him with big money deals. Garapollo isn't it. And AOC could use more development time.

I think Jimmy G has 2 more years on his deal. Hard to see them adding a 30 plus million QB on top of their 20 plus million back up.

Maybe Patriots? Even if they pick their future QB in this draft they might like Cousins for a couple years.

Maybe they trade for garapollo 😂😂 and then the raiders get Kirk. I mean the pats did draft Jimmy. Would be a helluva rollercoaster of events.
reply
Yeah, kinda cost prohibitive really.
