pull down to refresh

First things first. I want to give a shout out to the Satsraiser that is happening on SN today. @davidw has picked a wonderful cause, Running Bitcoin, with funds going to ALS research. Please take a moment to check it out and zap some sats if you are so inclined. #380729
Congrats to our SN Music Man, @Public_N_M_E, on winning the final NFL weekly pick 'em of the regular season. Do not fret though, many more sats to be won during the playoffs. I will be rolling out an NFL playoff challenge for 10k sats, likely tomorrow once the NCAA Bowl Game Challenge has been paid out, and I will be doing weekly pick 'ems for every round of the playoffs including the Superbowl (might need some unique tiebreakers for this one).
Some good games this past weekend. Some not so good games. Bills despite all their inconsistency put themselves in a pretty good position, getting to host at least two games in Buffalo (where no one wants to play and they rarely lose) and how about the Houston Texans grabbing the number 4 seed. I am looking forward to that game against the Browns. Stroud and Collins are playing at a very high level. I think we will be hearing those names together for a number of years. In the NFC the Cowboys got done what they needed to get done and secured the 2 seed, which is important since they can't win on the road against a decent team. I think the Cowboys and Lions will win their home games but Packers and Rams could make it interesting. I have no idea what to think about the Buccs vs the Eagles. The Eagles should win that game but they can't seem to win any games right now and Brown and Hurts both got injured yesterday. I am sure they will play but the last thing the struggling Eagles need is their two best players to be less than 100%.
Lots of NBA trade rumours starting to swirl. Fun time of year.
The Leafs have been winning lately so I don't have anything to say about hockey at this time. Sorry.
Sats for all,
GR
The OG deal looks worse and worse each game
reply
Barrett and Quickley are playing well for the Raps. Knicks have been winning. OG not playing well?
reply
Just the point totals. Barley getting double figures. And the bench scoring has gotten worse. Tibbs is know for grinding players down to where they have nothing left in the playoffs (Derrick Rose Bulls) I fear the same thing is happening with no bench support. I hated this deal because Julius Randle has yet to show up in the playoffs. RJ Barrett played better in more games than Randle did last playoff run. Teams just focus on shutting down Brunson then poof no one else can get a bucket. Now itโ€™s gotten even worse

No mention of the niners: must have been an embarrassing divisional loss.
I got what I wanted, which was the Raiders beating the Donkeys for the 8th straight time.
reply
I don't care about the Niners losing a meaningless game but I am surely quite concerned about the last two kicks of the season from a rookie kicker being a missed 33 yard FG and a missed extra point.
reply
I didn't realize there were no stakes for the 49ers. They'll just have to keep blowing teams out, so it doesn't come down to the kicking game.
reply
They had already clinched the number one seed. They rested half the team but so did the Rams. They should have won the game if not for the kicker. Darnold actually played pretty well. He should have played even better, they had a few dropped passes from the backups that were playing. Second half it seemed like Shanahan was just trying to run out the clock and not get anyone injuired. They really didn't do anything offensively.
Hopefully just a blip for the rookie kicker. He did this in preseason where he missed 3 in a row and then again during the losing streak earlier in the season where he missed a couple in a row but was good after that. So hopefully he got it out of his system and will be at least decent in the playoffs. Don't need him to be great, just make the ones you should make. But I don't want the game winning FG in the NFC Championship or Superbowl coming down to a rookie kicker. No thanks.
reply
Next season the 49ers should follow the Greatest Show on Turf's example and just always go for two and almost always go for it on 4th down. Use those roster spots on more weapons.
reply
Shanahan won't play like that.

Did you see the clip of Gardner Minshew before the Texans vs Colts game? They were doing a feature on him right before the game and I guess just showing that he is kind of a quirky funny guy and one of the clips they showed was him on the sidelines talking to his teammates saying "why is Maxx Crosby always so mad. He keeps calling me a little ass boy. Little ass boy. I am little out here but not always you know". Haha.
reply
I didn't see that. The greats are often just wired like that. He's not called Mad Maxx by accident.
Bummer. They've got the roster and offensive mind to pull it off.
reply
He does seem to have picked up the jitters. Hope he calms down and returns to his early season form.

YAY! For the bills.
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
LETS GO BUFFALO!!!
reply
Just saw the 49ers are travelling to Buffalo next season. I am not as hardcore as Buffalonians so I am hoping itโ€™s sometime before December. If so, I will probably go to the game.

Ahh that big of a niners fan huh
reply
I have been a niners fan since I was 10 and I have never seen them play live. I have been to SF once but it wasn't during Football season. I did go see the Giants play when I was there.
They rarely go to Buffalo. Once every 8 years I guess, so I think it's due time I caught a game and I haven't been to Buff for a football game in a long time. My buddy is a big Bills fan so I am sure he will tag along. Will be a fun short road trip.
