The top mind in theoretical physics (Ed Witten) is the son of the leading anti-gravity researcher from the 1950's (Louis Witten), who was the first hire at the confusingly named Research Institute for Advanced Study, a Martin-Marietta research lab, which later became Lockheed-Martin in 1995.
