Hey stackers, two weeks ago I started an experiment in a burger shop near my house, remember this post?
Trolling a burger shop until they accept bitcoin πŸ”βš‘ #370117
Experiment has ended sooner than expected, yesterday the employees banned the access both me and my friends πŸ˜‚ a positive point is that they didn't throw any bugers in our faces although I fear they will soon put up a no trespassing sign for toxic bitcoiners or similar.
And yep, that's all, it was fun, I won't taste their burgers but we'll try same experiment in other restaurants nearby, probably will soon become the most hated customers among the merchants in my neighborhood, but it's an occupational hazard 🀠
Thanks for reading, suggestions, zaps, criticisms, kisses and punches are welcome

You can save yourself precious time by just letting them be. Bitcoin will do its thing, with or without them.
Plant seeds, and let them start when they are ready, on their own terms. It may happen tomorrow, in 10 years, or... never, which is fine as well. What is important is that they make the first step when they are ready, not before. Bitcoin is not for everyone, only for those who deserve it, and need it.
Most people would have to get this explained more than once, and still have doubts. That's OK. Bitcoin is so revolutionary, so unique, it's irrational to expect people to wake up from the dream and follow us out of the fiat cave straightaway.
I talk to people about bitcoin, they come back to me after years, usually before a bull run, and ask again to get more clarity. I would set them up with wallet etc, show them the magic, they get excited, but then, some go buy shitcoins, against my advice, some get lazy and leave it for tomorrow (that never comes) because the learning curve looks intimidating, most get frustrated because they don't 10000x in a week and loose their wallet... πŸ˜”
They were never ready in the first place!

It may not have been successful, but you stepped out of your comfort zone, I assume(I might be projecting), and next time will be easier.

Thanks for commenting, maybe next time we will try with a local tech store

Maybe a better way is to become a regular to the point that they know your order. Then you ask to pay for a month's worth with sats.

This is a good idea... Trojan horse ;)

Not if they want my dearly sats 😎⚑

So you didn't get them to accept Bitcoin, a pity, but hey at least you tried and you could have succeeded, the only one who sure doesn't succeed is the one who doesn't try.

Right, thanks for commenting mate

Thank you for your service we lost the battle, but are winning the war!

You planted a seed. They will rethink when they see bitcoin on the news for passing ATH or 100k or when it’s all people are talking about in the fomo phase.
They will think maybe we should have accepted bitcoin.

Go back in wearing a fake mustache and glasses πŸ₯Έ
I read about this book titled Rejection Therapy by Jason Comely. His theory is that getting rejected at least once a day will help you get used to the feeling of being rejected - so that you overcome your fear and get off your butt to achieve things. Your story sounded exactly like rejection therapy. You did good πŸ‘

That reminds of this Ted Talk I watched a while back

Ho ho ho!!! Way to go!
Its not Bitcoin, but I once paid for an x-ray at the main hospital using cash, I can be super convincing if I want to.
Of course I brought exact change which is what the nurses use to fend of most people. Then I demanded a receipt...
What I got was a handwritten note, which is highly illegal in the legacy world of course!
I pondered if I should file a police report for this huge state entity not following all of these book keeping laws & shit, but let it slide.
These days? I would have trolled them until the end of time!
I do look forward to when Bitcoin will be on everone's mind, where its real money that statist fuckers will drool to get, that is when the real fun will start :-)

I enjoy these kinds of toxic experiments, BUT.. I do wonder.. What if you identified the issues they likely currently have (taxes, payment processing fees, lack of immediate finality in settlements, etc) and proposed how Bitcoin solves these problems for them?
Get them to download a Lightning app, and as an experiment, buy a a couple items in the menu as you walk them through it with the PointofSale App.
