I thought it might be interesting to post a follow-up analysis after having shared my daily mining earnings for 28 days. I summarized the earnings in the below table, including:
  1. How many sats I mined each day
  2. The running total amount of sats mined
  3. How many sats I received via stacker zaps and rewards distribution for each comment where I share the mining update.
  4. The running total of zapped and reward sats here on SN.

I received a ton of zaps early on, which put the zapped sats in the lead compared to the mined sats for most of the month. However, the steady mining results eventually overtook the zapped sats.
One aspect to note, it's possible that I get zapped retroactively for some of these past comments, so that number can go up over time, while the mined sats on each completed day is fixed.
This analysis also highlights the results of Braiins Pool switching to FPPS from PPLNS. With PPLNS, the mining results were pretty inconsistent - some days the pool would find several blocks, resulting in high rewards, while other days no blocks would be found, resulting in no rewards. The purpose of this post isn't to debate PPLNS vs FPPS, so I won't get into that, but I thought it was worth sharing.
If you're interested in my mining setup, you can find more information at the following links:
  1. My experience with a FutureBit Apollo
  2. Some analysis on electricity costs compared to mining output

I am happy to engage in discussion in the comments, answer any questions, etc.
Thank you for reading!

So the sats mined are from 1 futurebit apology and 1 bitaxe?

What a drastic range from 1 to 12,199 sats
This shows that as content creators, we should post things close to our hearts because once we put it out there, we have absolutely no control of the readers’ responses as much as we would like to think that our writing appeals to them
Keep up the good work!

Don't forget the 0! lol thank you for the kind words

Let me screw up stats then :)

FutureBit Apollo and BitAxe ultra. Check the bottom of the post for more details!

Amazing 1000 SATs a day keeps INFLATION away!

This is the first one of these I've seen -- nice writeup.
Ballpark of the energy cost to mine the 800-ish sats every day? Or does the amount you're posting take that into account?
reply
Thank you!
Check out my comment here regarding energy: #376199
The amount in the posting is gross sats mined, it does not take electricity costs into account.

Cool thanks for sharing. I’ve been debating miner. Even considered getting a HeatBit( space heater, air purifier, and Bitcoin miner), but the ROI was 6 years so I passed on it. I prefer to just keep and gradually increase my DCA.

In hindsight, this probably belongs in ~meta. Oh well

interesting!

Yea I wasn’t really sure what would happen. 10k zapper early on really had an impact but that pattern didn’t continue. Which is totally fine! Just makes for an interesting observation

maybe stackers like novelty? 🤔 like more excited for new fun?
hmmmm, need to see how @ekzyis z2z work in few months, would stackers or he get "bored" first? hahah
reply
Yea it’s probably the novelty factor
