cursing the existence of Apple products the whole way.
I feel you. What are your main pain points with Apple?

Buying a test phone was a given and understandable, Paying $100 for a developer account was silly but whatever, Needing an actual Mac to do builds.. that really hurt.
So, after buying a Mac Mini, I'm about $1000 into Apple just to run a build for iPhones.
Probably could have figured out slightly cheaper ways, but time has value too.
After that it's mostly dumb proprietary things that are foreign to me as someone outside the Apple bubble. For example, I spent way longer than I should have trying to figure out some device ID thing in the dev account... only to eventually realize I needed to physically plug the phone to the mini. No good reason for it, no documentation either, just randomly needed to because Apple decided that's how they'd make it "just work" at some point.
We're using Ionic so that the app runs on anything from a single code base, the good news (at least so far) is that there hasn't been any nasty rabbit holes on platform specific tweaks, relative to PWA and Android. Past dalliances with React Native had me expecting much worse tbh.

Nostr Plays Pokemon on my new live streaming client.
It's a live stream where the chat controls a shared GameBoy.
Give it a try! And let me know if you encounter any bugs haha

I made a custom OBS browser source (webpage that can display in the streaming software).
It's running WasmBoy, a GameBoy emulator that can run in the browser. Alongside the emulator, I'm subscribing to relays and parsing zaps + chat messages and feeding the inputs into the emulator.
I'm also using a tool I call Nostr Stream Manager that I made to help broadcast my kind 30311 live event notes from OBS.
The GameBoy + other tools are available for anyone to use! https://streambrah.com https://github.com/satsgg/streambrah

I'm working on improvements to my Strfry writepolicy plugin called "Chief". It has three filters that lets you whitelist/blacklist public keys, kinds and content. This week I've refactored a good portion of the code to let you choose between a JSON file and a postgresql database for storing the stuff you want to whitelist/blacklist. I've also added suppport for individually activating/deactivating each filter type (public key, kind, content).
Next, I want to add support for statistics to get a better overview of how busy the relay really is. If anyone has any good tips for this I'd appreciate it!

I just bought a dell R720 server on eBay... $250 with shipping. Will fit two Nvidia Tesla GPUs (which were the best cards to run AI on about 10 years ago).
Total cost will be under $1,000 - will be able to run Mixtral 7Bx8 at ~13 tokens a second.
I have already built a web server/interface so I can use it on my GrapheneOS phone anywhere I am. I'm totally geeking out about this right now...
Also, why is there no AI territory?!??!?

are uploaded img n gifs stored on the server? If so, I think an img bank style or multimedia section (public or private) could be great both to improve user experience and not to overload server. Maybe it's silly what I'm saying, speaking from ignorance. What is a fact is that sometimes I upload same img or gif several times bc I can't find the post where I included it previously. Thanks for reading
