An extreme example of Pica Syndrome was a Frenchman who ate an entire Cessna 150 plane over a two-year period from 1978 to 1980.

He dismantled the plane and consumed the pieces, aided by large quantities of water and mineral oil to aid digestion.

Frenchman Michel Lotito was nicknamed Monsieur Mangetout, which means “Mr. Eat everything."

His unique ability to consume indigestible objects was due, in addition to the syndrome, to an extraordinarily thick stomach lining.
