5 qualities of good money:
  • scarcity (also implies cannot counterfeit)
  • durable (can be stored)
  • divisible
  • fungible
  • transportable
Time is certainly scarce and divisible (I think, but I'm not a quantum physicist). But it seems to fail most of the other test. Most serious failure as I can see is time is not "fungible".
1 oz of pure AU = 1 oz of pure AU 1 BTC = 1 BTC 1 hour of a surgeons time != 1 hour of a ditch diggers time.
