pull down to refresh

Alright, I've noticed a recent uptick in European politicians talking about the possibility that "The Europeans might very well have to stand up and defend their countries once more", with the ones closest to home - Pistorius, German Minister of Defence and Ollongren, Dutch Minister of Defence - both making pretty clear statements.
Furthermore Pistorius is thinking about reinstigating the "Dienstpflicht", and the Netherlands are also working on new contracts and programs in order to bolster their numbers (i'm part of the Dutch reserves).
That, along with some of the biggest and complex exercises since long (there's one starting soon with something along the lines of 90.000 soldiers) seem to underscore the above.
Other countries like Poland are also trying to prepare their people it seems... I've gotten the impression that the Western political leaders are slowly but surely trying to emotionally prepare their people for war...
I'm not trying to be a Doomer, but it's what im noticing, what's your guys impression, are we really heading into that turbulent times?

its just the war lobby making progress.. NATO needs a reason to exist. People need to get paid.. So lets declare Rusia and China an enemy and have perpetual war.. So they can make money out of us the people

When you sense your politicians preparing the citizenry for war, war is coming. Only perceptive people pick up on this. You have. Act accordingly.

What would be a way to act accordingly? Get my go-bag ready to bivy out in the national forests once the military police comes to take me to the nearest mobilisation point?
reply
Uh, you don't have that ready yet? Then yes, start with that. Your go bag serves you well in natural disasters, too. I have seen more floods and such in Europe. Where I live, I can be affected by everything from tornado to chemical company release. I need to be able to bug out or shelter in place for significant periods of time.. Ask yourself what you need to survive for x period of time with no banks, electricity, internet or phone. Even for a few days you need food, water, cash, and security, right.?

Well, I do, technically.
I thought that one could read that between the lines already :)
I've got pretty much everything I need to stay outdoors comfortable, only things missing are some freeze dried food and all the important documents in a neat etui.

The Minister of Defence, not the media.
