Oh thanks! Just reading about how you intend to read it to your daughter untangled a knot in my mind. Which age group am I targeting? If I am reaching out towards beginning readers, then my cliched beginning “once upon a time” can remain because I will be focusing on the use of sight words. But if I want to reach out to other children, I need to revise certain parts of the story so that they won’t decry “lame”! Haha
I think it was Ronald Dahl who said that children are actually harder to write for than adults.
My book can’t be everything to everyone - and it shouldn’t be.
I just think it would be neat to be able to tell her that I know the guy who wrote her book.
