When making grand claims about European providerism, and putting citation numbers, i was expecting some literature to support these claims. But no.

The author seems to base his impressions of Europe on some past experience where he was living in a closed little bubble. Many of my European friends work for promising start ups, incidentally leveraging the field the author seems to know so much about, namely machine learning. Based on my little bubble experience, Europe is leading the way on many technological fronts.

Bringing us back to the need for objective studies to support grand claims~~

This tweet seems to illustrate the large disparity at the level of the mega corps.

I wonder how things are for smaller companies that also provide value for society.

What about the companies you've had on your podcast, what's the ratio there? Other than the ACINQ guys, have you had other EU entrepreneurs on?

yeah it could be a different story when talking about early stage startups, but i have no data to suggest that’s the case.

there are quite a few people from europe that i’ve spoken to on my podcast, but not an overwhelming number and my sample size is only about 100 people.

Crime is also exploding in Europe :) The idea of an open/decentralized society is breaking down even tho rising crime is the fault of the government. But it is what it is.

a central observation made by the author of this article is that europe has become a continent of consumers. the reality is that europe has no resources to speak of. this is also the reason why attempts are being made to underpin the euro, which cannot be backed by a credible collateral such as energy, with european moralism. hence this drive towards the cbdc. what the technocrats and central plan have left of the european union is to force the whole world into this regime so as not to look like losers themselves. thanks for the article
