Hi there!
My name is Kaishi.
My father is Singaporean.
My mother is Japanese.
They make lots of sounds every day.
Baffled, I put on a questioning look.
Luckily, they always explain things to me.
“Nam…Nam…Nam,” my mother sighed appreciatively, gobbling noodles.
“What’s this? What’s this?” I chanted in my heart.
“It’s udon! It’s udon! It’s udon!” She examined, her face lighting up like a bright bulb.
“抱抱 (Bao Bao)…抱抱…抱抱…,” my father said eagerly, his hands stretched out.
“What’s this? What’s this?” I chanted in my heart.
“It’s my hug! It’s my hug! It’s my hug!” He exclaimed, picking me up in one swift motion and squeezed me tightly.
“バグ (bagu)…バグ…バグ…,” I opened and closed my mouth, my fists fiercely moving up and down in unison.
“What’s this? What’s this?” my parents chanted, puzzled looks on their faces.
“I want milk! I want milk! I want milk!” I screamed, reaching out for my mother’s bosom.
These are my favourite sounds.
For this is how I am loved. 🥰
