just like they selected and funded Ghandi, they pick the "soft" resistance to give good liberals someone to cheer for.
With MLK, it only worked when, post-assassination, they got to appropriate him and control the public display, turning him into a liberal figure he never was, for public consumption by people who have things to lose and will thus opt for "rebellious" figures who don't damage they system they have all their assets in.
