typeform has no network effect, people can use Google forms etc. W So why does formstr need to use nostr? Simply having a good UI and open sourcing it for self hosting would be good enough surely?

Nostr is the only way you can guarantee that your responses are encrypted on a public network, that no entity is going through your data. It is in my knowledge the most private data collection mechanism out there right now, other than self-hosting, which will also be easier using formstr

clarification: self hosting is also only private if it is on nostr(as in running your own relay), the only way for the response provider to know that their data is only accessible to the person that created the form is if they can see that it’s encrypted by THEIR private key on a public network.
