Annual cucurbit, also known as Peruvian Gherkin and Duende Slipper. Very productive vine with 10 to 14cm hollow fruits, similar to peppers, can be chopped and sautéed, giving good volume and flavor to sauces or stuffed. Raw it tastes like cucumber, small it can be preserved like a pickle. Young leaves and branches can also be consumed after blanching.
