So I teach students with dyslexia. Spelling is not their strong suit.
I was getting them to figure out how to remember spelling courage. So I googled a bit and found that courage comprises the -ur, which is a r-controlled vowel. So this -ur is read as -er
So I’m happy to learn more about r-controller vowels today
English is my mother tongue - and woaw, I've noo idea what you're talking about...
But I have an inkling that English is pretty tough to learn.

Indeed, as a native speaker and reader there is another level that English teachers take and break down the language.
Plus then add in the different base roots on how certain words are spelled makes for a crazy ride.
