This song, featuring Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto took the US by storm in 1964, though I believe it had a world wide following. It was the first example of Brazilian Samba to gain such popularity in the US. There's just something about this song that sticks with me. Here's The Girl From Ipanema:

It was a worldwide hit in the mid-1960s and won a Grammy for Record of the Year in 1965. It was written in 1962, with music by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Portuguese lyrics by Vinícius de Moraes. English lyrics were written later by Norman Gimbel.[4]

The song is slow and dull to a degree before the saxophone comes in with excitement
