I read this when it was written. I love this kind of thing and think it’s a good warning. I don’t enjoy the absolute hyperbole but, speaking of incentives, that’s the tone that infrequent internet writers seem to take.
In general, bad incentives are bad and good incentives are good and they can get out of wack fast because incentives are powerful. In social media contexts it’s not clear which is which though because we’ve only ever had one incentive model.
