Unless aliens discover a new law of physics that we don’t know about and find a way to take advantage of theoretical wormholes or warp-drive technology, this first obstacle may be a non-starter, says Frank. “Anything going faster than light is science fiction right now because the laws of physics say that you can’t do that,” he explains. “Speed of light is as fast as you’re gonna go.”
That's Adam Frank, Ph.D., professor of astrophysics at the University of Rochester.
What are the odds, or what's the percent chance, that some humans on this planet have already figured out some of these new laws, and aren't in the business of sharing it with the Adam Frank's, and Neil deGrasse Tyson's of the world?
Greater than zero?
